Mrs Clucks hens are in the open paddock all day every day, roosting and laying in their mobile campervans. They are incredibly happy and forage on insects, worms and naturally occurring grasses and seeds, providing our farmers with natural pest control and bonus fertiliser.

We tend our hens and collect, grade and pack by hand every day to send our eggs to our markets and customers as fresh as they can possibly be – and as if they have Just Been Laid!

The Mrs Clucks girls are so happy with the spring conditions in the Scenic Rim they are being incredibly generous, providing us with larger than usual eggs. These King Jumbos are specialty eggs at >860g in a pack (and sometimes larger). We don’t know why hens are all of a sudden laying larger eggs, as most are the usual 700g or 800g (Large and X Large) size. We only have limited numbers of these wonderful eggs – many of which are likely to be double yolkers. We have also experienced 2 of the extremely rare triple yolk eggs in our younger flocks.

We hope that individual families will try them and appreciate these gifts from nature and enjoy their creamy taste. You can be sure an egg isn’t just an egg!

Mrs Clucks is a group of families who have banded together to produce open paddock and true free range eggs from a business model that is different to most other egg producers in the industry. We collaborate with farmers by agisting our hens on their established farms in a rotational and sustainable farming approach to agriculture and share the revenues.  By buying Mrs Clucks eggs, you are supporting several farmers.

Our hens roam very widely at very low stocking densities, living in campervans which are moved every few days to simulate a nomadic lifestyle. They are on several different farming properties at very low grazing densities, and follow other animal stock such as cattle to spread manure for natural fertilisation.
